Step 1: report the loss
- Report the loss as soon as possible to DOCSTOP by phone (free 00800 2123 2123 or +32 2 488 2123), or in person at a municipality, embassy or consulate.
- If it was stolen, also report it to the local police. In Vietnam you need a written police report for the exit formalities anyway (see step 3).
- A passport reported lost or stolen is no longer valid, even if found later.
